In a world where Hunters exist to perform dangerous tasks like capturing criminals and searching for lost treasures in uncharted territories, a young boy named Gon Freecss discovers that his father, who he thought was dead, is actually a legendary Hunter. Gon decides to follow in his father's footsteps, becoming a Hunter himself, in hopes of meeting him one day. Along the way, Gon befriends three companions: the vengeful Kurapika, who seeks to recover the scarlet eyes stolen from his clan; the aspiring doctor Leorio, who wants to become rich; and the ex-assassin Killua, who is trying to find his own path in life. Together, they face various challenges, including the rigorous Hunter Exam, encounters with dangerous creatures and criminals, and discovering the powerful life energy called "Nen," which can be used in battle. As they grow stronger, they learn more about themselves and the world around them, forging deep friendships and uncovering dark secrets that could change everything they know.
